Emily Blank
Trained Postpartum Doula (CAPPA)

Emily Blank is a CAPPA-trained postpartum doula in the process of completing certification. Emily has over 26 years of related experience including working as a birth doula for 6 years, an infant and twin nanny for 26 years, a foster mom to several infants, and a home visitor to parents with new babies. She is an adoptive mother of one beautiful boy who she and her husband adopted at 4 days old in 2013.

Emily has been called “magical” and “a baby-whisperer” by many of her nanny clients. Her approach to caring for infants is to bring a calm, positive, and nurturing presence to every interaction. What draws Emily to postpartum work after many years of being a nanny is the opportunity to bring that same nurturing presence to the parents as well as the babies during the very important period right after birth.

Some of her passions and gifts as a caregiver to new parents and infants include: giving parents the space to process the birth and transition to parenthood, educating parents on newborn care (they don’t come with a manual!), cooking nourishing meals, supporting bonding between parents and siblings and the new baby, helping babies and families find a rhythm that works for everyone around feeding, sleep, and play, and, probably most importantly, helping parents to get sleep so they can be fresh and focused for their baby and their own self care.

Emily has the life and work experience to support diverse families from many different backgrounds including LGBTQ+ families, adoptive families, NICU families, families with multiples, international and recently migrated families, and families that received fertility treatment.

In addition to postpartum care, Emily has a part-time healing practice supporting families with energy healing, nutrition support, and intuitive guidance. When not working you will find her spending time with her husband, son, and 2 whoodles in the outdoors of Colorado or snuggled up by the fire reading a good novel.
